NRS is happy to assist you with your oxygen needs when you are traveling, regardless of whether you are traveling within or outside of our service area.

If you are going to be traveling within our service area (see map), you are free to transport our equipment with you. If you do not wish to transport our equipment, we can arrange for equipment to be delivered to your destination, for a fee. In either case, please contact Customer Services to alert us of your travel plans.
When traveling outside of our service area, NRS staff can assist you in making arrangements with oxygen suppliers along your way, and at your destination. NRS is a member of a national buying group, and can assist you in getting the best price and service for your trip!
  • If you are traveling by car, our staff can advise you on how much oxygen you will need to reach your destination.

  • When traveling by air, you will need to contact your airline well in advance of your planned departure date. Generally, airlines will not allow you to bring your own oxygen on board the plane. The exception to this is the portable, battery operated oxygen concentrator. Most airlines are now allowing these devices on board. Again, check with your airline prior to your departure date to be sure that they allow the device you are planning to use. Bring a copy of your prescription for oxygen from your physician with you as well. They may ask to see this in Security. Also, if you experience any equipment issues while traveling and need assistance from another equipment supplier they will want to see it too. If you are planning on using the airline's oxygen be aware that they only supply oxygen on the plane. You will need your own source of oxygen getting to your gate, leaving your gate and for any layovers. If you are going to be using a battery operated oxygen concentrator, be sure to have enough battery power to cover your trip while on board the airplane. Generally, you will be able to plug in and or recharge at the airport gate. NRS has portable battery operated oxygen concentrators available for rental or purchase.

  • The added costs of traveling with oxygen are generally not covered by insurance, Medicare or Medical Assistance. NRS will assist you with your oxygen travel arrangements to obtain the best value and service, minimizing your out of pocket expenses.

  • NRS cannot be responsible for service or repair of our equipment outside of our service area.
